GoYogi values and supports equality in all aspects of social justice. We aim to help students from various socioeconomic backgrounds, gender identities, and we are supporters of the LGBTQ+ community. Mental health care should be available to any and all students. We are working to increase our support to diverse communities and serve the community with equality and inclusion in mind.

Additionally, GoYogi is a secular organization. Our programs and resources are not affiliated with any religious practices. The origin of meditation/mindfulness practices is from India and is derived from yogic practices. However, these practices are not religious in any way, and in order to respect the religious backgrounds of many of our users, our programs do not mention religious influences. We are focused on helping students bring their mind’s focus and attention by focusing on breathing techniques and mindfulness practices that can help deal with stressful, or anxiety-filled situations. These aspects of the human mind are applicable to everyone regardless of their religious beliefs.

How the GoYogi Program Works

Your school or workplace can directly integrate mindfulness practice into your agenda. We will customize and create unique guided mindfulness audio lessons to fit your schedule and environment. Follow these easy steps:

1. SIGN UP
While signing up, it is important to keep in mind the roles of an adult administrator and student administrator at your institution. The adult administrator can be any faculty or admin working at the institution. Each school must have an adult that oversees the running of this program at your school, however, majority of the responsibilities can be given to a student administrator. We highly recommend recruiting students to apply for the position, as we encourage the growth of young leaders.

2. SET UP A MEETING WITH OUR TEAM

After you have signed up, you will be contacted by one of our team members to set up a meeting and discuss the requirements and environment of our school. It is important to us to understand the institution’s values and environment so that we can customize the mindfulness audio lessons to meet your needs.

2. RECEIVE EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED

After you register your school and have appointed your school administrator, you will receive an email with promotional posters, introduction PowerPoints, as well as instructions on how to set this up at your school. We will guide you through the process of integrating the program into your school. You will then receive the audio lessons each week!

3. WORK WITH US TO CUSTOMIZE AUDIO LESSONS AT YOUR LOCATION
Each and every organization, business, or school that we work with has a different environment, schedule, and mindset.
We work to create a custom mindfulness program for your establishment in order to provide the most time efficient and beneficial practice.

Typically, the program provides audio lessons that have guided mind-body meditation techniques, breathing practices, stress relief techniques, relaxation techniques, etc. to be practiced at the start of the day. Audio lessons range from anywhere around 2-8 minutes and can be practiced as often as your establishment desires.

We will work with you to help you best incorporate this program and use these unique audio lessons to fit your school.

How are we different from other programs?

The other mindfulness-in-classroom programs that are available usually require a teacher or staff from that school to attend a training course in-person, and pay large amounts of money and time to learn it at a center in a different location, then return to the school to teach it to the kids. By using audio/video technology, our certified instructors create lessons best suited for a school environment, that requires no expertise from the adult administrator. Our program can be used by anyone at anytime!

Other online meditation programs are usually created for at-home practice on leisure time, however, this program is built into the school day, thereby enhancing the educational experience through shorter, but effective videos. Our audio lessons are made for the educational environment and adapted to custom-fit the wide range of potential audiences.

Our program is the best way to bring the benefits of mindfulness and meditation into the students lives’ in a timely manner, using class time effectively. Not to mention, our program is free of cost!

Additionally, with South Asian roots, our Founder credits the South Asian practices from which mindfulness is derived. We ensure that our practices are not culturally appropriated, because it is essential to give credit to the origin of the practice, which is India.

This is also why our program is free of cost — we do not want to let these practices become bought and sold as an item of consumerism. Additionally, most mindfulness programs are not accessible to low-income communities or areas. By making our program free of cost, we hope to be able eliminate a barrier to reaching the communities that especially need mental health education.
